Ocean Beach has always been a fantastic place to hangout especially when you have a craving to grab one of the world’s greatest burgers at Hodad’s!  The food is so satisfying, even celebrity chef, Guy Fieri stopped by to host the show, “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” at Hodad’s.  According to the the website, a “hodad” is a nonsurfer who spends time at beaches masquerading as a surfer. Which explains why their one-of-a-kind burgers are served in a vibrant beach atmosphere!

If you decide to try Hodad’s come hungry, but be prepared to wait especially if it’s a weekend! Hodad’s usually has a line out the door. Their menu is simple, but perfected: burgers, fries, onion rings, and shakes. Choose the size of your burger, choose your toppings, choose your side, and choose something to wash it all down with!

You’ll never choose another burger joint once you’ve had a taste of the famous Hodad’s!

Con Pane is a hot spot in Point Loma with customers constantly bustling in and out. Whether you are in the mood for delicious gourmet sandwiches, pastries, or freshly baked breads, Con Pane is the perfect place to stop by for lunch.

This cafe is especially a favorite for Point Loma locals where the options are endless. Con Pane is the place for all bread connoisseurs and pastry lovers. The Turkey Cobb sandwich is one of the more popular items on the menu. This sandwich features a tasty combination of turkey, applewood smoked bacon, fresh avocado, crumbled gorgonzola, house roma tomatoes, and lettuce. Whether you pair these ingredients with rosemary and olive oil bread or sourdough you absolutely cannot go wrong. Any sandwich can be perfectly paired with a pastry of your choice...dark chocolate chip cookie recommended!

The cafe environment is casual and perfect for an outing with friends and family. Be wary that this cafe is closed on Wednesdays and also tends to be extremely busy during lunch hours, but it is well worth the wait!

If you're looking for that classic American meal of burgers and fries with a higher level of quality and atmosphere, Eureka! is perfect for you!

The atmosphere of the restaurant is ambient and dimly lit, with soft house music playing in the background giving the setting a more relaxing and luxurious vibe. The menu consists of mainly gourmet burgers and other Americanized finger foods such as hot wings, quesadillas, and fries. But all cooked and prepared at a higher standard than your average diner or fast-food chain. Although the prices might be slighter higher than other burger joints, you can easily recognize the quality of the ingredients and freshness of the meal. The burgers can range from classic American burgers to special meats such as bison burgers, turkey burgers, and even vegetarian burgers. Restaurant of The Moment: East Village

Situated in Encinitas on the 101, East Village is a hot spot to North County locals. The urban design and casual "vibe" of the diner compliments it's impressive California-Asian inspired food and drink menu.

Although we are sure that each menu item is drool-worthy, our favorite East Village menu item is the "Monk's Stone Pot." The stone pot base is very simple, consisting of your choice of white or brown rice topped with veggies, over-easy egg, and a drizzle of their signature hot sauce, all served together in a super heated stone pot. Although unnecessary, you can increase your bowls deliciousness by adding your choice of special toppings such as tofu, pork, rib-eye, salmon, and kimchi. Our favorite is the salmon, but none will disappoint!

Be sure to treat yourself to this diner the next time you are in Encinitas, and don't forget to utilize the signature hot sauce. East Village's website calls its monk's sauce "the new 'it' sauce, better that all other sauces combined!" We couldn't agree more!

Fidel's Little Mexico has been a staple for North County locals since 1960. The house-turned-restaurant  consists of three different levels, including a festive courtyard, a couple of bars and outdoor patios, and a taco bar. In addition to the fabulous venue, the Mexican cuisine takes you right to the border.

Starting with the bare necessities, Fidel's is all about their chips and salsa. Once you dip your first chip into their spicy, yet sweet salsa, we can assure you that you won't be able to stop. The menu offers classic items such as enchiladas, huevos rancheros,  fajitas, and countless burritos, just to name a few.

As a weekly-Fidel's customer, it is highly recommended that you order the chicken and rice soup, as well as a patron margarita (on the rocks, with salt, of course :) The chicken and rice soup is simple and consists of only avocado, cilantro, and onions while served with your choice of flour or corn tortillas. Also, be sure to order a side of enchilada sauce to dip your chips in...you won't be disappointed!

If you live in Carmel Valley or Sorrento Valley, Corner House Cafe must sound familiar! The family-owned business has been impressing our taste buds since 2000, and is a hot lunch spot due to it's impressive menu, and central location. The cafe offers a wide array of food, anything from pizza to wraps, but specializes in hot and cold sandwiches.

As adults, sandwiches seem to be an underrated food group due to the fact that we consumed countless PB&J's while growing up. After discovering Corner House, sandwiches have become a popular food item for us once again. The cafe uses quality meat, cheese, and bread to provide a hearty sandwich that makes you a repeat customer.

If you are in the mood for a hot sandwich, the "Iron man" is a fan favorite and consists of Grilled Chicken Breast, Avocado, Swiss, Honey Mustard Dressing, Tomato & Sprouts on Sourdough Bread. Our favorite cold sandwich is the "Turkey Avocado" that includes turkey Breast, jack, avocado, onion, tomato, lettuce & mayo on sourdough Bread.

Be sure to order the "special sauce" too...it's a perfect compliment for any sandwich on the menu!
