Crack shack

The Crack Shack is a great place to dine with friends and family! They believe in sourcing happy, pastured chickens fed all-natural grain to ensure quality.  They also have a full bar program with craft cocktails, a thoughtfully chosen wine list, and curated local craft brews on tap.

With two locations in Encinitas and Little Italy, The Crack Shack is a casual spot to hang out with friends and family! You can even bring your dog! Our favorite menu items include the Coop Deville and Senor Croque sandwiches. We also recommend trying the Mexican Poutine for a fun twist on this classic Canadian dish. If you’re looking for something a little more simple, you can’t go wrong with an order of the Fried Chicken. And no visit to The Crack Shack is complete without an order of the Mini Biscuits and special Miso-Maple Butter!

Restaurant of The Moment: Haggos Organic Taco Leucadia

If you’re in the mood for fish tacos, this is the place to go! The ingredients are fresh, organic, and locally sourced. As well as the mouth-watering food, the atmosphere is really cute with a outdoor patio that overlooks Leucadia Blvd.

We love just about everything on the menu! Haggos Tacos is definitely known for the Cousteau Fish Tacos, which feature sauteed fish on corn tortillas with organic slaw, cumin-lime crema, mango salsa crudo, and of course, cilantro. Their other taco choices include chicken, beef, steak, and vegan/vegetarian options. Each taco plate is served with jasmine brown rice and red beans. When it comes to burritos, the chicken and veggie burritos are our favorites.

Next time you are in Leucadia check out Haggos Tacos, you won’t regret it!

Restaurant of The Moment: Birdseye Kitchen

540 N. Coast Hwy
Encinitas, CA 92024

Located on the Encinitas/ Leucadia border, Birdseye Kitchen has enjoyed much popularity in its first year of business. It’s easy to see the appeal due to the great food, excellent service, and lovely atmosphere. The restaurant itself is beautiful. The decor is simple, elegant, and features the work of local artists hanging on the walls. The front window rolls up on a sunny day, giving the main room fresh air and plenty of light.

This Vietnamese-Thai restaurant differentiates itself from other Southeast Asian-inspired eateries due to the fact that the menu is conscientious of its food sources and ingredients. The menu is made up of organic, nutrient-dense ingredients and grass-fed meats. There are interesting fusion dishes as well as classic dishes such as pho, pad thai, and house special curry.  Most menu items can be made gluten-free and/or vegan.

We highly recommend the beef pho, drunken noodles with curry powder added, and yellow curry. But you really can’t go wrong because each dish is perfectly seasoned, fresh, and delicious!

Restaurant of The Moment: Fish 101

Located on the 101 in Leucadia, Fish 101 is the hot spot for seafood-addicts. The communal style layout is the perfect place to get together with friends, or meet new people, while treating yourself to local fresh caught fish and craft beers.

They stay committed to sourcing the freshest sustainable, local, and seasonal ingredients to provide healthy seafood to nourish the body. The menu changes seasonally depending on what’s in season, and what’s biting, so each day there is a local fish of the day.

Our favorite menu item is the Baja Fish Tacos that consists of cabbage, pico de gallo, and crema and is served with  avocado and tomatillo on the side. The clam chowder is also a favorite, and is great for these chilly winter days!
